Sent this off with a job application for Ms.Cupcake, because i'm a rad vegan baker and I love cupcakes, but alas, they hired someone who'd worked in a bakery before. :-(

Okay so I've finished two front covers... messing about in photoshop loads, so many different hand-made processes mishmashed together. I think they need something else, but i'm not sure what. And the writing looks too Harry Potter-y. This isn't something I should admit probably but I guess it's quite obvious from this, type is not my strong point... Either way, these are the images that will appear in the catalogue for Uni because they want images before the 7th.

Screen prints and edits of Grace McDaniels 'The Mule Faced Woman' and her son Elmer

I think for the most part they turned out pretty rad! but I layered the eyes of Elmer and Grace's top wrong which isn't the biggest deal ever, it was just a bit of an annoying realisation after spending 5 hours in screen printing. My favourites are the ones where they look like aliens (so the green/purple/pink ones). I'm not a pro at screen printing but I love the whole process even if it is time consuming. Hopefully i'll be using one of these on the front cover of my final major project but i'll add different elements in photoshop to provide a background for the picture. 

This picture was to illustrate the randomness of dreams. This was perhaps a little bit rushed towards the end in some parts. Also, I don't dream about boobs as much as I put them in this picture... Find the boobs! ( . )( . )

Messing about

This was more spontaneous than anything but I think what was going on in my head was 'nothing'-how feeling low feels and how feeling vibrant, lovey, otherworldly feels-everything. Not that I'm bipolar or anything but I tend to either feel one way or the other, not really a inbetweeny sort of person.

This is supposed to be me and things that make me happy. I haven't scanned it in properly as it was just a quick experiment with colour in photoshop. I quite like how it turned out but my mum thinks that she (me) doesn't look truly happy and the unhappy version (that I shall upload another time) looks a lot more emotive. So apparently i'm a grumpy bastard who isn't truly happy... maybe. Even so, I still like this image.

Ok so... I'm going to make an effort to blog more of my stuff and what i'm doing. I've been drawing from some films for a uni project and it's taking much longer than anticipated... but that's partly down to me changing my mind about what i'm doing for my main project. I can't seem to make a decision anymore! ANYWAY, I've been working with ink and calligraphy pens which is a completely new way of working for me and it feels so much more free! I love it! It sort of reminds me of Ralph Steadman's work...probably because he uses calligraphy pens. Drawing buildings is 100% less boring and it's freeing not to have to worry about trying to make it perfect. If a mistake happens, just go with it and it'll add to the work as a whole. Definitely need to work at it though but I can see myself using this method of making work in the future. 

I sure do love my repetitive/grass/tree stuff
